Support for parents navigating special needs parenting
Parenting a child with special needs is a journey full of love, pride, and deep joy—but it can also be exhausting, isolating, and overwhelming. Many parents carry a constant mix of stress, anxiety, grief, and the pressure to “do it all.” It’s normal to feel pulled in multiple directions and unsure where to turn for guidance or relief. You don’t have to navigate this alone.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with parents of special needs children to create space for reflection, emotional support, and sustainable coping. My goal is for you to feel more grounded, seen, and confident in your role as a parent, as well as who you are outside of this role.
Hi there, I’m Michelle!
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA MFC#132381) with a trauma-informed approach, integrating CBT, humanistic therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work). In our work together, I offer both practical tools and a steady, nonjudgmental space where all parts of you are welcome.
I am also a parent of a child with special needs. This lived experience shapes my work—not as a replacement for clinical training, but as a source of deep empathy and understanding. You don’t have to explain the constant vigilance, the mixed emotions, or the quiet grief.
My work is grounded in safety, collaboration, and respect for your nervous system and personal journey. We move at your pace, with attention to both emotional healing and practical coping, always honoring your resilience and capacity for growth.
